Time has apparently denied my request to pause for awhile, because it keeps marching on and my kids keep getting bigger! Landon is now a whopping 20 months old, which seems so crazy. Just look at that little boy in the picture! What happened to my little baby? Or even what happened to my toddler? He's all little boy now.
Month 20 has been an eventful one for Landon! We had a long road trip and lots of different places to sleep in but he's taken it like a champ. He's even been sleeping fine in the pack n' play all. He's such an easy going, good-natured boy and I appreciate that so much about him!
Landon still loves to sleep, although he maybe isn't sleeping quite as much as he used to. He still averages about 12 hours at night and still takes two naps most days, usually for about 2 hours each on average. And yes, I realize I am incredibly blessed that he still sleeps so much! I think it has made the transition to two kids easier on me.

Landon is wearing all size 24 month clothes now and size 5 diapers. He's still our little linebacker and is frequently described as "solid" by people after they hold him. He still loves to eat, and actually seems to enjoy eating "healthy". You know we've been on the road too much when Landon refuses to eat french fries (it's true, we were stopped at McDonalds and he pushed the french fries away). Tonight for dinner we had grilled cheese, carrots, peas & strawberries and he was in heaven. Although he didn't mind stealing bites of Chick Fil A when a bunch of the girl leaders brought their dinner over to our condo tonight =)
He still thinks doing sign language for please or more is the magic ticket to anything and gets pretty disappointed when it doesn't earn him what he wants. He's especially starting to do "more" all the time now. He's also seeming to suddenly say a lot more words. In addition to his old words he's recently started saying nose, all gone, bye bye, night night, HI, ta da, and will say "Cheese!" when you're trying to take a picture of him. Well, sometimes he will.
Today he also said "Mommy" and "All done" the most clearly he's ever done before. He will also say "Sissy" referring to Layla, although only when he wants to, never when prompted to do so. He's seeming a little more willing to attempt saying words that you ask him to say. And of course, he's still speaking his own language all the time.

Look at that precision building there.
Landon is also unfortunately growing closer and closer to the "terrible twos." We're definitely entering into the time to discipline phase, which is why I've been reading this book:
It is really good, and I highly recommend it!
Anyway, Landon has started getting much more whiny and dramatic when he doesn't get his way.
He works that lower lip like it's his job. And thanks to me he has a very big pouty lip (according to Kyle). It's actually really hard not to laugh because when Landon is being really dramatic, he lays on the ground. But he doesn't throw himself on the ground and flail around like you'd traditionally associate with a temper tantrum. He sits down and then slowly lays himself back on the ground, almost like he knows if he throws himself back it will hurt hitting his head on the ground. Then he just lays there. It is so, so funny. Except it's not, because it's his little sinful nature showing through, but it is really hard not to just crack up when he does it!
On a happier note, Landon just loves his daddy.
He's always loved Kyle, but now that he's getting bigger and likes to play and wrestle he's loving Kyle even more. Back at home, anytime Kyle was leaving Landon would go and part the blinds so he could watch out the window till Kyle's car pulled away, or when Kyle was getting back home Landon would go watch at the window till he came inside. He especially loved it when the window was open and he could talk to him. Kyle loved watching Landon wave at him as he left.
They're just little pals. Kyle can get Landon laughing like no one else can.
Landon is also becoming more of a helper lately. He'll bring things to me that I ask him for if he knows what it is and where it is. Anytime he sees anything that belongs to Layla he always picks it up and brings it to me when I'm holding her. He's also started trying to put her pacifier in her mouth, which he hasn't been successful at yet, but he sure smashes it up to her face! It's very sweet.
He's also getting better at some of his finer motor skills. He's recently improved in holding markers/crayons and coloring quite a bit (although he still tries to eat the crayons. I think it's just because he's getting more teeth and wants to chew on everything). He can also use his fork to stab food and put it in his mouth, which he thinks is quite the achievement so he expects applause every time he does it. Still no self esteem problems for Landon =)
That's our 20 month old boy in a nutshell.
I love you Landon and you will forever be my little Punkin'!!!

Good for you to read up on that stuff. For some kids, the terrible doesn't come until 3. We're still waiting on it for Gabe. I hope Landon sails though.
