Life with my Loves: Layla

I have a feeling this will be the last month we try to do her monthly picture with the sign.

She was not very cooperative, and when I tried to force her to cooperate, she just got mad and cried. Oh well.

We're a whole month in to Layla's second year! Now that Layla is 13 months old, she decided to officially become a toddler.

Since my last post with videos of her walking, she's gotten so much more steady on her feet. She's starting to walk much more consistently and more quickly (although still not close to running yet), and she's just much more willing to walk. She doesn't constantly try to default to crawling like she used to (although if she wants to get somewhere in a hurry, she gets down and speed crawls).

She can also push herself up to standing from the middle of the floor, and crouch down and then stand back up without holding onto anything.

Layla is also a little dancing machine, and starts breaking down anytime we play music or anytime we sing Jesus Loves Me with Landon. I have yet to get a good video of it, but her favorite moves thus far are the booty drop and swinging her head from side to side.

We also just celebrated Easter right before Layla's 13 Month birthday, and let me say, she was stinkin' adorable in her bright Easter dress.

She really liked putting the eggs in her basket and shaking them listening to the candy inside (no, she didn't get to eat any of the candy. Lucky Landon).

Layla has not had a champion month of sleeping this month. She's getting better at napping consistently longer, which is a plus, but lately at night she keeps waking up in the middle of the night (like, 2 a.m.) wide awake, and will cry for an hour to 2+ hours before finally falling back asleep. Not so happy about that. I know she's getting like, 3 teeth right now, but I'm not sure if that's the cause. Ideas? Suggestions? Because I'm ready for the phase to end.

Aside from that, she usually goes to bed around 8, sleeps till 6:30 when she drinks some milk, then goes back to sleep till 8-8:30. She takes two naps a day for 1-2 hours each.

* She wears 12-18 month clothes

* Still in size 3 diapers

* Still not enough hair for clip on bows. Boo.

* Favorite foods: bananas, toast, green beans, cereal, Goldfish crackers, pasta, sweet potatoes, squash, applesauce, yogurt, strawberries

* Foods she dislikes: scrambled eggs, any kind of meat, peas, carrots

* Favorite things: being outside, being chased/tickled, playing with Landon, going to the park and swinging, playing with Landon's blocks (she's surprisingly really good at them!), giving big open-mouthed kisses, music/dancing, looking at books
