As I posted a couple days ago, last week we said goodbye to our first home, and on Tuesday we said hello to our summer home!
We hung out in KC for a couple of days with Kyle's family over the weekend after we moved out of our house.

Landon fell on the cement and skinned his knees really bad. He wasn't very happy about the cleanup process or the bandages. Thankfully a popsicle and some time watching baseball with Uncle Travis made him feel better.
Then he was extra snuggly with Daddy later that day.
Monday mid morning we loaded up the car and headed halfway to Gulf Shores. We drove to Memphis on Monday and the rest of the way to Gulf Shores on Tuesday.
Somehow despite the fact that we're only at the project for three weeks this year instead of the normal 6 or 7, we still managed to pack our van to the brim.
Thankfully Layla slept a decent amount on the trip, especially the second day.
Let me just tell you, Buddy Fruits squeezable applesauce may have been one of the best ever inventions for traveling with small children.
For our first stop on Monday we stopped for lunch at a Q'doba, which was awesome because Kyle and I love it, and both Landon & Layla also love Chipotle, so same idea! They were happy to be out of the car.
We were letting Landon run around a little bit in the restaurant and a couple sitting behind us told us that just around the corner was a park where we could let the kids run around (maybe a hint that they were annoyed??? Oh well :)
So off we went to the park for a little bit to let the kids run out some energy.
We trucked along the rest of the day and made another stop for dinner in Jonesboro at a Chick Fil A so that Landon could play in the playplace. We made it to Memphis in time to give the kids baths and get them in bed....which was a little bit of a challenge since we were all sharing one hotel room! They eventually fell asleep though and slept all night till they woke us up at 7:45! Great! We hit the road and only had to make one stop for lunch (at another Chick Fil A) and then made it to Gulf Shores around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. I'm actually really impressed with how well the kids did on the road trip. Gives me a little bit of hope for our really long flight coming up :)
Since arriving the kids have been looooooving our summer home. We are incredibly spoiled this year staying at amazing condos right on the bay, with a huge patio on the back that overlooks the water. Seriously, this place is incredible. So far we've played a lot on the patio, gone swimming in the pool twice with Landon's bffs, Alexa & Ellie, went to the Gulf Coast Zoo, and just last night Kyle took Landon fishing in this little stocked pond on the condo grounds!

| One of our first stops after unloading was Wal-Mart, where Landon picked out this ball. It's been the best buy ever! |

Fishing with Daddy...apparently Landon was terrified of the fish and wanted nothing to do with them. I'm sure he'll warm up to the idea over time :) He loves feeding the fish with bread though!
We're excited for a few more weeks of adventures before we trek back to Kansas!
