Layla - 23 Months

Not in a picture taking mood yesterday on her 23 month birthday. She was too busy looking at the cars out the window.

Well, I successfully missed Layla's 22 Month post (oops), and her big 2 Year post is coming up soon (boo hoo hoo) so we'll keep this one more to the point.

Ways Layla's changed in the last month 2 months:
* Ever since the hospital, Layla has been way more cuddly, which we LOVE. She's also been WAY more attached to her blankie and pacifier (which she calls "scki-scker"). That's probably not the greatest thing in the world, but after what she went through, I don't really care to force her away from them right now. So she carries her blankie around quite a bit now, and her comfort/coping mechanism is to fidget with this one specific corner of the blankie, which therefore always looks filthy.
Blankie had to be washed - oh no!

She had both blankies in this pic

There she is fidgeting with the blankie corner
* Layla is continuing to talk more and more, including saying some full sentences, most of which I think she picks up verbatim from Landon. Such as, "There it is! I found it!" Also, if you sing "Jake and the Neverland Pirates..." she finishes it off with "and Me!"
* We're officially down to one nap, people. Yep, right at the very end of December Layla officially transitioned out of her morning nap and just takes one in the afternoon. In some ways, this is easier, because we can do more things in the mornings and then she and Landon nap at the same time in the afternoon. The only problem is that they're not really sleeping very late in the mornings, so they're usually up between 7-7:30. Oh well, it's still working out ok.
* She loves the movie High School Musical 3, and as soon as the waltz song sequence with Troy and Gabriella on the roof of the school comes on, she immediately runs to either me or Kyle and demands to "Dance." Then we have to waltz her around for the whole song, and she just loves it.

She's still the same sassy girl in a lot of ways, laying on the ground and throwing the nearest objects when she's mad, or our personal favorite, when she straight up hits us in the face when we tell her no. We're working on that one and she's getting lots of discipline. But she's also sooooo sweet, loves to give hugs and kisses, and like I said is becoming a huge cuddler, so the good balances out the naughty! She's still a great eater, STILL wants her milk to be warmed up, and still likes to copy whatever Landon is doing. Our Layla Bug is tons of fun!

This is also how I feel when eating a donut

Layla decided she wanted to get into "eating clean." So I discovered too late she had shoved all of the below toy food into the washing machine right before I started a load of towels.

Pushing around her new baby stroller. LOVES it.

This is her temper tantrum. Marble floors make life hard for an angry toddler.
