Happy Halloween! This was our first year to dress Landon up in costume and take him trick or treating since last year he was only a month old at the time! I was so excited because we found the cutest dinosaur costume for our little "pterodactyl!" It was the perfect costume for him!

Kyle took Landon "trick or treating" just around the houses in our little cul de sac. Really it was rather self serving considering Landon can't actually eat any of the candy, which means Kyle & I get to eat it all! But we had to show off this cuteness! So off they went!

Then I drove Landon over to our friends/fellow staff couple's house to take pictures with their two girls, Ellie & Alexa. Also Landon's two best friends! (he has no choice at this point, ha ha)

After all that walking around looking cute, Landon was tired out!
I'd say it was a successful first costume experience! Not sure how we'll top that cute costume next year.
I realized that I missed my 21 week pregnancy update last week! Last Thursday through Sunday I went with 5 of the other staff girls to a women's conference in Memphis presented by Downline Ministries all focused on discipleship. We picked up a friend on staff at Mizzou on the way and crammed 7 girls into a huge Suburban we rented. The road trip was probably one of the best parts of the weekend! We had a great time sharing life together, got to have dinner with a woman who's on staff with another campus ministry there in Memphis and drilled her with all sorts of questions, then spent half of Friday at a Barnes & Noble spending time with God, reading and just getting refreshed before the conference started Friday night.
We learned a lot at the conference just about the importance of not only growing strong in our personal walks with God and really following Him whole heartedly, but then how to pass that on to other women through discipleship relationships. I also got to go to a workshop entitled "Discipling Your Toddlers and Preschoolers" - a very felt need in my life right now! I've been discipling women for years, but now entering the realm of discipling my toddler is a whole new world, and I LOVED the workshop. Maybe I'll post some of the things I learned sometime.
All that to say, Wednesday was spent packing, cleaning, and getting everything ready for Daddy & Landon to have a weekend all to themselves! It was my first time to leave Landon so it was hard, but I had a great time and I know he had a great time bonding with his daddy. Here are a couple of pictures I came home to on the camera:

It was a great weekend all around! Hope you're all having a great start to your new week and enjoying lots of sugary candy!

That little baby dinosaur of yours is such a cutie!
And it's so awesome you were able to go to that conference. I seriously need to buy a book about "disciplining your toddlers and preschoolers." I think those are the years when their characters are being built, so I would really hate to mess her up. Haha
