16 Months!

Yet another month has flown by, and Landon turned 16 Months old yesterday!

He's looking more and more like a little boy and less and less like a baby everyday. He's also becoming even more entertaining as he gets bigger and his skills sets grow!
A few "stats" : he's wearing 18 month clothes, although all the 18 month pants are too long and/or a little big around his waist, so he sags quite a bit. He has 5 teeth (2 on top, 3 on bottom) and at least one more on the way on the bottom, but I also think his molars are getting ready to start making appearances. He wears a size 5 shoe and gets really excited to put shoes on because he knows it means we're going somewhere! He also likes to stack all of his shoes (and our shoes) on the dining room chairs.
Or he likes to try our shoes on
He drinks 6 oz of milk in the morning, 6 oz before his afternoon nap, and 8 oz before bed at night. He also usually has 2 cups of very watered down juice with lunch and dinner. Some of his favorite foods right now include peas (I know, incredible!), roasted pieces of squash or sweet potatoes, all sorts of fruit but especially blueberries and grapes, pizza (he ate an entire slice on his own once minus the crust. not kidding), peanut butter, and stealing bites of Mom's cereal. He's also excited that I recently started letting him have more than just Cheerios - his favorite breakfast is a snack cup of Apple Jacks!

As you can see, he's much more diligent about picking up the pieces of cereal he drops than he was with Cheerios. Landon will still eat just about anything we give him though, so I'm grateful for that!

Some of his favorite activities right now are dancing to any kind of music, throwing balls (or throwing anything, really), and looking at books. He's recently loving sitting in your lap to look at books, but he doesn't quite get the concept of turning around to sit down in your lap yet, so he just brings a book and basically lunges his whole body at you. It's sweet :)
He also still loves his blocks and is getting better and better at building.
He did that all himself!
He's actually getting very picky about which pieces he wants to use - he'll dig through till he finds just the right one. He especially loves stacking a whole bunch of the single blocks together to make a tall tower.
He's still not really saying words, although he talks all the time. He knows what he's saying! His favorite word is still "yeah" and he's actually started nodding his head up and down when he says it instead of shaking his head "no." He also will say "All done!" if you ask him if he's all done eating. That's about it in the verbal department.

So Landon's new room has been ready for several days for him to move over to it, and at first I was all gung ho and ready to move him, but a few days ago I freaked out and stalled wanting to move him. It was just so sad to think about him not being in his baby room that we brought him home from the hospital to. We've had the door open and let him start playing in there for several days, but we decided that his 16 month birthday was a good day to do the official move. So we moved most of his toys out of the living room to his room into his toy box (which was made for Kyle by his grandpa when he was a little boy! We just repainted it)

And last night we had him sleep in his new room in the new crib (well, crib we borrowed from our neighbors) for the first time.
Waking up for the first time in his new room!

Still a little unsure, but he did sleep well!
Even though he was confused when we walked in there last night, he slept all night with no problems.
Speaking of sleep, Landon can't quite seem to decide what his sleep schedule is going to be over the past couple of weeks. At least 4 nights over the past couple weeks he's slept until 10 or 10:30 a.m. which has meant he only took 1 nap in the afternoon for about 3 hours. Yes that means he sleeps for 13 or 14 hours at night! But other days he'll still wake up around 9ish and then take a morning nap and an afternoon nap. We'll see what he decides to land on - not sure if the excessive sleeping is due to his teeth coming in, a growth spurt, or if he's just really deciding to change his schedule!
I've also been so happy because my sweet boy has started to become more of a snuggler again! When we're watching movies (we finally got him off of Gnomeo & Juliet and hooked on Tangled instead. I have no problem watching that over and over!) he'll lean back against you and snuggle, or when I'm putting him down for naps or bed he lays his head down on my shoulder and just cuddles for awhile. Some nights he'll even let me rock him in the glider for 10-15 minutes just snuggled up on my shoulder. It's almost like he senses that his time alone with us is ending soon so he's snuggling more. Probably not really the truth, but I'll take it! These past 2 weeks have been some of my favorite time with Landon ever; he's so sweet and so fun to play with. I'm just enjoying being with him so much! We love him more than ever!

I think I'll have a hard time moving Giada to another room too once we have another baby. It's kinda hard to let go I think.
And yay for snuggle time! Giada is still not much of one. Unless I'm feeding her. I don't know what I'll do once she's done with the formula feeding :-( I keep telling myself that my second one will be much more of a snuggler :-)
