Weekend & Landon's Baby Room

Ready for lots of randomness? Here we go!

* On Saturday my sister and her family came to visit for the afternoon. Her husband actually had a house-warming party of a friend to go to, so it gave Mandy & Alycen the perfect excuse to hang out with us for the afternoon! Alycen & Landon are actually starting to be friends! They played sooooo well together and it was adorable to watch. Of course they still don't take pictures together very well :)  Mandy and I got to catch up on life and each other's pregnancies (she's due a few months behind me in June) and Alycen & Landon got to play - perfect afternoon!

* Sunday afternoon it was beauuuuuuuutiful outside - I mean, like, 60 at least. So we went for a walk!
I even had to take my jacket off because I was too hot. Landon was SOOO excited to get to go on a walk again. I realized how very pregnant I am as I slowly waddled alongside Kyle & Landon.
Then we just played outside for a little bit.
That's right after Landon had just tipped forward and bonked his head on our neighbor's driveway. He was so excited to be outside he didn't even care or cry though. Yay for beautiful weather!

* Then by 7 p.m. Sunday night it was snowing.
I love you, Kansas, and your very bipolar weather. Don't worry, it's supposed to be back up to the upper 40's today. Not sure when for real winter is going to come around - probably right in time for our baby girl to be born!

*Last night Landon pooped and needed his diaper changed about a half hour before it was time for him to go to bed. His jammies were all finishing up in the dryer, so after I changed him I was too lazy to put his pants back on, so he walked around with this fabulous outfit till his jammies were ready

He loved it.

* Landon has been sleeping fairly well in his new room, except every morning he's been waking up way earlier than he was accustomed to (remember in his 16 month post when I said he's been sleeping till 9-10:30? Ever since we moved him he's been waking up around 7:45 or 8).
I'm not sure if he's just still not used to the new surroundings, or if he wakes up and sees his toys and doesn't want to go back to sleep, or if maybe I need to move his nighlight to a different outlet further away from his bed. Regardless, I hope this early streak doesn't continue for long - I liked him sleeping in!

* Speaking of Landon's room, before we moved a bunch of his stuff over I took pictures of his baby room to make sure it would be well documented before it changed. I'm still kind of sad we had to move him - I really really love the way we decorated his baby room. I know it will be fun to redecorate girly style, but I'm still sad we have to cover up our original work!

His little hand & footprints

The room was inspired by the bedding, which I originally saw and FELL IN LOVE WITH on Walmart.com because I loved blue and brown, and I don't really like cartoons or characters for baby rooms which is what most boy stuff is. So I was beyond excited when I saw the modern blue and brown bedding online, until I clicked around and found out that not only was it out of stock online, it was discontinued!! I literally cried about it. So my wonderful mom came to the rescue and actually MADE his bumper/crib skirt just like what I had seen and it turned out awesome! I seriously loved this room; so sad to change it!
Currently the brown window darkening curtains are tacked & taped over the windows in his new room till we get new ones (and curtain rods) for that room. I also moved the glider over to his new room temporarily. More than anything to help ease the transition for me so I can still sit and rock with him at night for a few more weeks.
We bought the paint for our little girl's room this weekend and painting it is our project for next weekend. We're leaving the brown stripes and painting the rest of it pink. I'm a liiiiiiitle nervous because we got very, very pink paint! Hopefully it turns out well!

We got out to enjoy the weather on Sunday too! I'm all about being outside and taking in the great outdoors...when it's nice!

I like(d) Landon's baby room! I don't think you'd ever shown pics before. You did a good job with it! I'm excited to see what you'll do for baby girl!!
