Fall Fun

Wow, I'm so far behind on updating this blog with our life happenings, it's not even funny. So what I had once intended to be several separate posts we'll just dump into one all about what we've been doing this fall!

Almost a month ago we went to KC and got to go to an awesome pumpkin patch with ALL of Landon & Layla's cousins from both sides of the family (4 girls!). There were animals, slides, food, and of course, pumpkins.

Landon was pal'ing it up with this little boy. He kept pointing to the goats and saying, "Horsie! Neigh!" Probably confused the poor kid. Oops.

Landon's favorite part was the stage with music playing where he could dance!

Even though Layla is 3 months older than Katelyn, Katelyn is BIGGER than her! My teeny girl.

Landon of course had zero interest in posing for a picture w/ Layla.

Addyson was willing though!!
A great time was had by all. They were definitely worn out by the end!

One of the perks of living in a college town is getting to participate in Homecoming activities!! Every year they have trick or treating for kids in Aggieville, the section of our town with a bunch of shops, coffee shops, local restaurants, and bars, of course (college town!) Then right after the trick or treating is over the Homecoming parade comes through with all the floats. We got the kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes and went over for the festivities! It was FREEZING but it was SO fun!
Landon was our brave knight

Laylabug!!

Candy = perfect distraction waiting for the parade to start!

Dad's phone = other great distraction waiting for the parade to start

Me & my girl, snuggling for warmth

Checking out his winnings once we got home
I love our town.
Then of course there was ACTUAL Halloween.

There's a shopping center with a grocery store and several other little shops right by our house, and every year they do a mega trick or treating event where you just walk your kids store to store to get candy. Genius. So we took them there first.
Landon was really excited about the fire truck. He kept saying, "Honk Honk!"

McDonalds handed out a free 4 pack of chicken nuggets plus a Happy Meal toy. Landon felt the need to rest in the middle of the parking lot and eat his first nugget.

Willie the Wildcat was even there! Landon was too scared to stand next to him for a pic, but he was willing to pound it with Willie.
After the Westloop trick or treating we came back to our neighborhood. Kyle took Landon around the houses on our cul de sac while Layla and I held down the fort passing out candy on the front porch. Unlike the day of the parade, Halloween was perfect weather to be outside! Then Kyle & I switched and he stayed with Layla while I took Landon to the cul de sac next to ours. By that time it was about time for bed so we ended our trick or treating there. By about halfway through Landon started understanding what was going on. As we'd walk away from one house he'd point to the next one and say, "More? More?"

Cutest Laylabug ever!

She really looks like a ladybug!

We've also had some fun enjoying the nice weather days playing outside. One Saturday afternoon we all went out to rake leaves. Landon enjoyed playing in the leaves and Layla enjoyed watching from the stroller!

Landon still wants to be outside every chance he gets. The other morning we were outside playing with a ball while Layla was napping, when all of a sudden Landon looked over at our crabapple tree and started saying, "Away! Away! More!" He ran over, found his bucket, and started picking up crabapples! I guess we've trained him well :)

He was literally crawling through the flower bed digging through the leaves

He'll do anything to be outside, even if it means manual labor, I guess!

Ok, we'll end this post there so as not to overload it to a ridiculous standpoint. But we sure are loving fall! We can't wait for Thanksgiving next week!!
