Layla - 15 Months

Look at that Little Beauty up there. It's hard to believe that a year ago we were here at Kaleo and I was posting about her 3 month birthday.
Look at how much she's grown! So crazy! I just can't even believe it.

Layla has grown a lot over the past month in personality. Seriously, with each day that goes by she just get more and more personality. Some of it is very sweet, but some of it is VERY sassy!
She's "talking" all the time now, just jabbering away. I don't know what she's actually saying, but she repeats a sound that sounds like she's saying "happy" all the time. She makes a distinct sound when she wants "up", and I think she makes a consistent sound when she says ball. She also growls/barks when she sees pictures of dogs and giggles when she sees cats. Layla is 100% girl; whenever she's playing with her baby or a stuffed animal, she starts talking in this really high pitched voice that is just too cute for words.
I really could watch that video all the time; she's just so cute!
Layla loves to blow kisses, give big open mouthed kisses, and smile huge flirty grins at people.

As sweet as my little Layla Bug is, we're also seeing Miss Sass come out. Sometimes her sassy side just shows through in adorable orneriness...

However recently Sassy Girl has started throwing her first temper tantrums. When she doesn't get something she wants, she freaks out. Like today, she wanted the remote that was sitting just out of reach on the couch, and when I wouldn't give it to her, she started bouncing up and down whining and hitting the couch. When I still wouldn't give it to her, she threw herself on the ground and rolled around crying. Um, drama! We'll see how this develops...

Layla is also Miss Brave. Landon is a bit of a dare devil when it comes to running and jumping and climbing, but he's a little bit of a chicken in a lot of ways (we'll be working on some courage Scripture memory verses in his future). Layla on the other hand seems to have no fear. As I mentioned in my previous post, Layla reached right out to touch the fish that Landon was afraid of. This weekend we went to the outlet mall after dinner because they have a nice covered playground area for the kids to play on. There's also some splash fountains that I tried so hard to get Landon to like last summer.
There's Landon last year standing far away from the fountains drinking juice
Well as we were playing on the playground Landon suddenly saw the fountains and decided to run over. He got pretty brave and barely touched one with his hand. Layla followed and marched right into the fountains.

She played and played until she was dripping wet from head to toe.
Next time we'll take her in her bathing suit :)
She also decided to show scared Landon how it was done when we took them to the beach.

In some basic stats, Layla still only has two teeth on the bottom but has four (or maybe five?) front teeth on the top and she has her first molar coming through on top! She's sleeping 11-12 hours at night, and still taking two naps a day. Landon and Layla are sharing a room while we're at Kaleo, which is going ok, but not awesome. They wake each other up frequently which is cutting down on my productive time! They're doing pretty well though. She's eating great, although she tends to shy away from meat (just preparing for India I suppose!) She's still high maintenance about her milk being warm enough, but we're trying to wean her off of that since we'll be traveling so much!
And here are just some more pictures of our sweet and sassy Layla Love!
