Just Life

Well life just keeps plugging along here in India! We've had a wonderful time having most of the rest of our team here (come on Drew, we're ready for you!). Landon and Layla love all the extra attention. Landon also likes having so many people around to coerce into helping him play the motorcycle game on the iPad.

We're slowly getting more settled into our flat. I officially got ALL of our suitcases unpacked! There's still a lot of stuff lying around in random, unorganized places until we get some more furniture/storage, but we're getting there! Yesterday we went to the Homeland Mall to look at bed frames for our bed and got one ordered! It won't be here for a couple more weeks, but we'll be up off the floor soon. We actually found a sweet package deal that included a queen bed frame, 2 door wardrobe, and bedside table on sale for less than what a lot of just bed frames cost. We were excited!
The kids were excited because the mall had a McDonald's in it so we hit that up for lunch after shopping.

And yes, you saw that picture right...I've finally started being able to get Layla's hair in enough of a "ponytail" to clip a bow in! This is exciting stuff guys.
First ponytail!

We also just received the suitcase that we had sent over early with someone to Hyderabad earlier this summer. They shipped it here so we got to rediscover all that we had packed in it! It was like Christmas in August! I was most excited about all of the 24 month sized clothes that Layla got for her birthday that I knew I had packed in there. She has a whole new (adorable) wardrobe! It's been so fun getting her dressed the past few days.

She needed her tutu on over her romper

This weekend we also went to the mall to try to start getting a few more toys for the kids. We really weren't able to pack too many, and they've been able to watch way more movies than normal as a result. My main goal was to find a play kitchen for them to use. Back in America, we didn't have a kitchen set (because we knew we were moving to India), but anytime we went to anyone's house whose kids did have a play kitchen, that is ALWAYS what Landon beelined it to. He loved playing with kitchens. So I thought that would be a fun toy for them to have that would maybe actually occupy them while I was making dinner some nights.
Unfortunately, the only good kitchen sets at any of the toy stores were like, $130, which was way more than we wanted to pay, but we were able to find one model that was only $25.
So, it's a little bit tiny.
Or a lot tiny. But, they've still played with it some, so we'll count it as a victory :)

Could she look any cuter with those bows in her hair!? I bet you are excited for when she has enough to really start playing around with.
Looks like you guys are settling in nicely, I bet you can't wait to be in an actual bed and not sleeping on a mattress on the floor anymore.
