Time sure flies when you have kids, I guess exponentially more when you have three of them! Mason is already six months old!!
What happened to this tiny boy? (well, ok, he was never actually tiny)
Here he is, six whole months later:
Mason had a doctor check up this past week and weighed 18 lbs. and was 27 inches long. Such a big boy! Actually pretty comparable to Landon at six months (and here's Layla at six months). In Landon's post I think it says he was 27 1/2 inches long, but I remember thinking they had probably mis-measured him, because at his 8 month appointment he was only 27 3/4 inches long, so I think he was probably closer to 27 inches at six months.
Month Six has been a big one for Mason! He is very MOBILE, army crawling his way wherever he wants to go. He is seriously fast. I'll leave him unsupervised on the floor for what I think is a very short amount of time, and return to find him on the other side of the room, under the table, or even in the kitchen. We're having to be a lot more careful about making sure small toys and bits of food are cleaned up off the floor!
He also gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth like crazy. He's figured out how to move his knees forward, but struggles to figure out how to move his arms. You can tell he's thinking really hard about it, but then eventually gives up and lays back down and army pulls himself to where he wants to go instead.
True crawling is just around the corner, I suspect!
He can't help it, he just has these two big siblings to keep up with.
We got a high chair for Mason to sit in while he eats his cereal and also just to sit with us while we're eating meals at the table. He loves it!
Mason's actually starting to get pretty good at sitting up on his own and can stay up for a few minutes (by the time I'm actually writing this post, he's actually totally sitting up on his own...but by 6 months he could only do it for a few minutes at a time).
He is as smiley as ever and just lights up the room. He looooooooves Landon and Layla, and Kyle can make him giggle like no one else can.
Mason is doing a little bit better on the sleep front. He now naps in his crib like a champ, and only take a nap in the swing occasionally, or if he wakes up too early from a nap in bed, I'll sometimes transfer him to the swing to see if he'll fall back asleep. At night he's averaging a 5-6 hour stretch of sleep initially before waking up to eat. I'm hoping that continues to stretch longer over the next month. He is NOT a night person, and likes to go to bed usually between 7-7:30. It's so funny how with each child I've let them go to bed progressively earlier...Landon at this age was still "napping" from 8-10 and then actually going to bed around 10 p.m. Layla was around 8-8:30. With Mason, I just don't even try to fight him to stay up longer than 7:30!
He's the sweetest little sleeper :)

| I love this pic...one of the mornings he woke up too early and got transferred to the swing. |
He sleeps better now that we have a sleep sack and bumper pads for him, brought over by various people coming back from America!

| Prior to the sleep sack and bumper pads...woke up much more frequently! |
So that's Six Month Mason! I love this boy so much!
