Goodness gracious, am I ever late on this one. Poor third child syndrome.
Mason is 7 months! (uh, for a few weeks now)
It seemed appropriate to use a blurry picture for his official 7 month picture, because this kid is always moving. Always. He is too all over the place for his own good.
And here were his runner up photos, showing his ornery side:
I'm going to try really hard to post his info based one where he was at when he turned 7 months, and not where he's at now. That being said, month number 6 was a big one for Mason, as you can see by the very official Baby's First Year sticker calendar.
He had an absurd number of milestones this month. He started eating solid foods, started sitting alone without support, got his first tooth, started officially crawling on his hands and knees (even though he was already army scooting all over the place), started pulling up on furniture, and FINALLY slept through the night. Yes, for the first time. Let's break those down:
* Eating solid foods - he loves them! His very first food was pumpkin puree (you can't get butternut squash here, and sweet potatoes haven't been available at the store recently, so I went with pumpkin). Oh my he loved it. From the very first bite. At his second feeding of it, he would hold his mouth open and literally say "Mmmm" after every bite. He next tried carrots and then peas, neither of which he liked until I mixed them with some pumpkin. That's the extent of the vegetables he's had. Fruit wise, he has had bananas, apples, pears, plums, and prunes. He's a fan of eating!

"Yuck what is this?!"

"No Mom! Take it away!!"
* Sits alone - for awhile after he started sitting alone, I was nervous to let him do so even on his foam mat. Just seemed like such a hard fall to the marble floors, even with the foam. So originally I only let him sit up when he was in his "cage," as Landon calls it.

He quickly became more trustworthy sitting up though, so then he was able to sit up on his foam mat.
* Next up, first tooth! I was seriously SHOCKED when Mason was chewing on my finger and I felt something sharp. Sure enough, there was a little tooth in there! I can't believe he got his teeth so early - Landon's first tooth didn't appear until he was over 9 months old. His bottom front right tooth was first, but then only about a week later his second one broke through right next to it!
* I knew it was just a matter of time, and he finally figured out the coordination to crawl on his hands and knees. He was already getting anywhere he wanted to go by pulling himself around on his belly, but he's an official crawler now.
First time crawling!
He's pretty darn cute crawling around! It wasn't long after he figured out crawling that he learned to push himself into a sitting position and then back into crawling.
* It also wasn't long after crawling that he also decided to start pulling himself up on furniture!
The side table of our couch just happens to be the perfect height for him to do so. This means I know have to keep an eagle eye on him since he still doesn't have perfect balance...and that's a long, hard fall to marble floors! (trust him, he knows)
* SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! Oh my goodness, how I had waited for this day night. Mason goes to bed very early (usually around 7, sometimes 7:30). He was in a rhythm of sleeping till 12 or 1, then eating, then sleeping again until 4ish, eating, and then sleeping again until 7 or 8. At the end of September, I was mentally preparing myself to let him cry it out through that midnight feeding while Kyle was going to be out of town for a few days. But then about a week before Kyle left, Mason just slept! The first time he slept through the night he slept all the way until 6 am, but now he usually wakes up between 4-5 and eats then goes back to sleep. But considering he goes to bed so early, I still consider that sleeping through the night. I'm so happy!

Good morning!
He still occasionally sleeps in the swing for a short nap, or if he wakes up earlier than I want him to.
So that's it for his developmental milestones this month! Now, here's just some of his cuteness :)

He doesn't like the jumperoo quite as much now that he can crawl.

This is Mason's new face that he makes all the time.
