I feel like Mason looks so much more grown up all of a sudden this month! How are you so big already, buddy?!
Here he is compared to his siblings at his age!
This may sound strange, but I think I've discovered one distinguishing characteristic that makes Mason look a little different than Landon... I think his head is smaller. I don't know that for sure (no pediatrician head measurements for Mason like we had for Landon), but he just seems a little smaller somehow, and I think it's his head. Obviously Landon's hair was a little longer (although also a mohawk), and Mason's eyes are blue whereas Landon's are dark brown, but I think their head size might be their other noticeable difference. Anyway, moving on.
Mason is so fun! He loves attention, yet he will entertain himself crawling around playing with toys for quite a long time (this must be a third born thing...I don't remember Landon or Layla self entertaining so well). He loves to eat, loves to be outside, loves to play with toys, loves to get in the middle of Landon & Layla playing...he really is all around very happy, most always!
Milestone wise, he:
* Has 6 teeth (4 on bottom, 2 on top)
* Says MaMa, DaDa, BaBa, and YaYa (and loves to squeal, growl, scream, and giggle)
* Cruises QUICKLY around the edges of furniture and tables
* Crawls at lightening speed
* Because he crawls so quickly, he hasn't really shown much interest in trying to stand alone or walk. I am 110% on board with this. I would be so happy if he waits to walk till we're back in the U.S.
* He learned to clap (and is very proud of himself for it)
Mason loves to eat, and is really enjoying starting to eat more finger foods and is showing more interest in OUR food as opposed to pureed food. So we're navigating good food options for him. He's starting to not like the Puffs as much (sad, since Kyle just brought back 6 more containers) because he likes "real" food more. He still likes toast, and still likes his rice cereal. He will still eat pureed foods also.
Mason was really sick a couple of weeks ago, and so I was giving him small amounts of formula in a bottle frequently throughout the day to try to keep his fever down, and apparently he decided he likes bottles better, because he started refusing to nurse a couple of days later and is now drinking only formula. Whatever.
As I mentioned, Mason loves to crawl around and play with toys by himself. He'll just pull over the basket of toys and sift through it playing with different things, or his new very favorite thing to play with is the toy kitchen. He loves to pull open the doors and see what's inside, and pulls himself up to standing next to it. Future chef in the making?
He also loves to try to get in on the action when Landon and Layla are rough housing. Typically ends in an injury of some sort, but that doesn't stop him! He has an ornery streak (like his sister) and loves to speed crawl away and ornery squeal when he knows he's doing something he's not supposed to. He makes us laugh all the time! And to end, lots of cute pictures!
