I'm stealing this idea from my friend Sarah, because I liked the idea of just posting a typical Landon & Mommy day right now!
So this is what we're up to these days.
Looking cute all the time, that's what!
Landon wakes up in the morning around 8:00. Sometimes he wakes up earlier (not preferred) and sometimes he'll sleep a little later like till 8:15 or 8:30 (always acceptable!) He typically wakes up and talks/plays in his crib for a little while, usually till he drops both pacifiers on the ground. Then he starts crying till I go in to get him (always standing in his crib right by the door ready to pounce!)
Landon is just like me and likes to eat breakfast right away when he gets up; no delaying this kid with playing first. He drinks 6 oz of formula (did I mention he's been drinking formula? At about his 11 month birthday he decided he was done with nursing and gradually weaned himself. So we switched to formula for this last month). Then he usually eats some Cheerios or maybe some fruit. Then he's ready to play for awhile.
Landon usually only makes it for an hour and a half to two hours of awake time in the morning before he's tired again, which means he's down for a nap by 10:00 at the latest, sometimes as early as 9:30. Length of nap varies greatly, usually around 2 hours, but sometimes he'll randomly decide to wake up after an hour. Then I usually distract him playing for only a little bit before he's ready for lunch time.
Landon spends a lot of time in his high chair, because he really loves to eat. And he especially prefers to feed himself with his hands instead of me spoonfeeding him (which makes eating peas take a really long time). He's eating all Big People food now, no more baby food! I try to give him some frozen vegetables, some fruit, and either some cheese or chicken/warmed up frozen turkey meatballs for lunch so he has a "balanced diet." Or sometimes we have Mac & Cheese.
After lunch it's more playtime and then down for nap number two usually by 1:30 or 2. Once again he naps anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours usually. When he wakes up it's either playtime or we go over to the dorms or a sorority to meet girls (for me, not for Landon) until dinnertime (yes his schedule revolves around meals!) He also usually has a snack of some Goldfish or graham crackers thrown in there somewhere. He eats whatever we're eating for dinner if he can. Then it's more playtime till he's ready for bed. He's become my little early to bed bird and barely makes it till 8:00 most days (the past few days he's been going to bed more around 7:30 or 7:45, but I attribute that to his FOURTH tooth that just broke through).
When Landon goes to bed/naps, he has to have TWO pacifiers. We stick one in his mouth and then hand him one to hold on to. This is mostly because he then likes to sit/stand up and play for awhile, which consists of talking to himself and banging his pacifier on the slats of his crib. Which means quite often he either drops one of his pacifiers through the slats onto the floor while banging it, or in a fit of excited talking it shoots out of his mouth onto the floor. So he has a built in backup. When we hear the second one hit the floor we have to go in and give them back :)
Remember Landon's blankie? It's still his favorite.
What do we do during playtime, you ask? Lots of playing on the floor with his toys (sometimes I play with him, sometimes I let him play by himself). He loves to look at books now, even turns the pages by himself. Now that he's more mobile he loves crawling EVERYWHERE, especially through the "obstacle course" of our dining room table and chairs. He still loves the piano, and mostly enjoys chewing on toys or banging them on things.
But now that the weather is *finally* cooling off we've been able to play outside a little bit more, much to Landon's delight.
doesn't he look tiny in our yard?
watching a bird
crunching the leaves
It's all fun and games till he tries to eat the leaves. Then it's game over.
Landon's MOST favorite activity is going for walks, which we've done almost every night for the past week.
Tonight Daddy got to go with us! Landon was too busy enjoying the Great Outdoors to smile for my picture.
I'm so happy it's finally starting to turn to fall so we can be outside!
I'll leave you with a great video of Landon playing. It's kind of long, but shows just how all over everywhere he is right now!
Just realized this post was massively long. Congratulations if you stuck with us through the end!

I love it! I always wonder what in the world other people are doing with their kids all day. I frequently feel like, "should I be teaching her something?" We should DEFINITELY get together sometime soon! I bet our kiddos would have fun together now that they are both mobile! Miss you, Tracy!
uhhh. sorry about "turkeyman." I have no idea why Stephen has this google profile, but I often accidentally post on someone's blog from turkeyman. Probably freaks them out and they think I am some creepy man stalker. :) So, that was me. :)
I loved the two hr naps. LOVE! Giada is cutting me short on those, and I'm getting kinda sad over it, bc now I have less and less time to do things.
He is seriously such a cutie! And I know your daughter is going to be just as cute ;-)
