Landon - 19 Months

Now that I have both Landon & Layla's monthly posts to do, I feel like I'm constantly doing them, which makes it feel like my kids are growing up waaaay to fast! (oh wait, they are)
Landon is 19 months old today! It's like his mini golden birthday - 19 months on the 19th. Does that make it his silver birthday?
I thought that this was an appropriate picture to commemorate this 19 Month milestone, as he's standing on top of the stool like the fearless dare devil he is.
Landon was in a far cry from a posing for pictures mood today; he was simply too busy getting into everything (theme of his life recently)
Caught an almost smile there. And yes, that's a basket of laundry creating the background for his pictures. Also fitting as that's a constant in our house (proud to say those are folded though, just awaiting the laundry fairy to come and put them away)
The above picture is blurry, I realize, but it's a face that Landon has been making all the time recently - he sticks his little tongue out the side of his mouth. Not sure why he's doing that.
Mom....seriously, stop taking pictures
I feel like this picture more accurately represents Landon today:
Covered in blueberries and syrup from the blueberry pancakes we had for dinner. Pretty sure his hair sticking up at the top has a nice coating of syrup for gel. For some reason Landon just seemed messy today. What a boy.
Landon also celebrated his 19 month birthday by getting his first pair of skinned knees.
Poor baby. We went for a walk around the park by our house and stopped at a little playground that's on that bouncy asphalt looking surface (does anyone know what that stuff really is?). Landon was running full speed toward the slide and completely bit it, falling directly on his knees and hands. Evidence Landon is a boy: it didn't even phase him. He got up and kept right on running. You'd have never known anything had ever happened if not for the blood on his knees. He didn't even mind the cleanup process.
I think he was too excited to be up on the counter playing with all the bottles of stuff to care about his knees getting cleaned up.
Well here are a few facts about my cute 19 month old:
* He thankfully is going through a great phase where he'll eat anything (wait, he's kind of always been in that phase). But he hasn't been boycotting anything recently and has been eating all of his vegetables even. He especially loves: sweet potatoes, tiny bites of apple, animal crackers, spaghetti-ish pastas, basically any fruit, and broccoli - yes, he loves broccoli. I've also been trying to let him become more independent of an eater, including letting him try to dip his spoon into the yogurt and feed himself the other day. That was interesting. Here he is holding his peanut butter sandwich for himself (don't worry, he's supervised)

* Landon is in basically all 24 month sized clothes and in size 5 diapers. Not sure of his exact weight but we're going to estimate HEAVY!
* He has 12 teeth - his 4 middle teeth on both the tops and bottoms, then big spaces, and a molar in each corner of his mouth. I can see where one more tooth on the bottom is close to breaking through.
* Landon's vocabulary is continuing to expand little by little. For animal sounds he knows Moo, Meow, Woof (well, kind of), Neigh, Quack, and we're working on Baa. He now says Hi, Wow, Woah, Yay, All Done, a form of Please, and Night Night. Actually the cutest thing EVER that he's started doing is when he's acting tired and ready for bed/a nap, I'll ask him "Landon, are you ready for a nap?" and he'll go to wherever Layla is laying, wave at her and say "Night Night" and then come to me to pick him up and take him to bed. SO sweet!
* He's also still doing sign language for please
Double handed please when he REALLY wants something
He'll also do sign language for "More" if you ask him to. It's really cute though because he only uses two fingers, so you can tell he's concentrating on the precision.
(you can also hear him say his version of "please" in this video)

* I think Landon is getting to the brink of really saying a lot more words, because he talks alllllll the time, and I really think he's saying something specific in his mind. Here he is reading a book:

* I've said this a million times, but Landon just loves to be outside; he seriously would live out there all the time if we'd let him. He loves to go for walks, and throws his worst temper tantrums when he goes over to the door wanting to go outside and we tell him no. Luckily this week we got to go over and play with his friends Ellie and Alexa while Mommy talked with Jen. He played in their backyard on their playground.

He was in heaven.

* Landon still likes to watch movies, and especially movies with music in them. Which means his current favorite movie is the one and only "High School Musical 2". Thanks for that one Netflix. We mostly watch in our bedroom where our TV is because then we get to snuggle with him, but he still thinks that anytime a laptop is out it should be playing a movie for him.

* Landon is starting to really love his little sister! He's frequently looking for her now and wanting to touch her. Here's a blurry picture of him giving her a kiss tonight
It's so so cute. I really am excited for them to be best friends as they grow up. He occasionally gets "jealous" of her, mostly when he's in a whiny mood and wants to sit in my lap while I'm feeding Layla. He doesn't seem to hold it against her though.

* And last but not least, Landon is still quite the dancer. This is his new best dance move that he doesn't even need music for, he just does it all the time:
It's almost like a quick feet drill in football. (Are you impressed by my sports knowledge right there?) It's so cute and so funny, and he loves for us to join in, which is almost like a mini work out.
We love you our little dancing machine!
