Landon - 21 Months

Look at that big boy! Today marks 21 months since Landon entered our family. I was just reminiscing today about one year ago when we were celebrating his 9 month birthday in India! Crazy that was a whole year ago, and crazy how much bigger Landon has gotten!
Still a smiley, happy boy though!
Saying cheese!
Not a whole lot has changed with Landon since his 20 month birthday, other than his verbal skills. Like I mentioned in my last post, he's starting to attempt saying most any word you ask him to, so I don't even think I could list out all the words he says anymore. Here he is saying Happy Father's Day (well, Happy Daddy Day):

Landon still loves to look at books and is starting to stay on a page long enough to actually read the book sometimes. He's also able to point out a lot of pictures in his First Words book.

Landon seems to love Layla more and more. He says her name really clearly which is adorable, and anytime he sees something that belongs to her (pacifier, blanket, hair bow) he comes running over to give it to me saying "Sissy! Sissy!" However, he also seems to think that her toys are his, especially her Bumbo chair.
He's convinced that it's his own personal little chair. He sits in it to watch movies, to eat, to drink his milk. He is constantly climbing in and out of it, usually not very gracefully.

Unfortunately Landon just seems to have no sense of a proper fear of danger. Can you spot Landon in this picture?
Yes, there he is at the top of the play place at Chick Fil A. Usually I try to keep him down on the ground just playing in the toddler area, but this day he decided to climb up the massive steps. All well and good until he tried to come back down the steps and slipped on the top one, falling HEAD FIRST down three of the winding big steps. Thankfully Kyle was standing in there and darted up to get screaming Landon while I was freaking out from outside the glass. He was fine, and actually started crying later when we wouldn't let him go back in to play. I have a feeling he'll be causing me a gray hair or two.

Landon is still a great sleeper, although I'm starting to contemplate whether it's time to transition him to just one nap a day. Several days over the past week or two he hasn't ever actually fallen asleep during his second nap, just played in his crib for an hour and a half. So we'll see what happens.
He's also still a good eater and loves getting to use his fork to feed himself.

On one final note about our 21 month old, he sure loves his Daddy. Here they are head butting.
Yes, head butting. Kyle decided that a kiss and a three second hug wasn't enough for a goodbye from Landon and decided to teach him to head but. I'm leaving that one to a Daddy/Son ritual.

We sure love you Landon. No matter how big of a boy you get to be, you'll always be my little Punkin'.
