That, my friends, is a picture of Layla sleeping. Through the night. For four nights in a row.
Praise the Lord. Seriously. Not just using that as an overused phrase, I have seriously been praising the Lord for answering my prayers to get Layla to sleep!
Friday night after a pep talk from the other two moms on staff with me, I decided to just let Layla cry it out that night (and Kyle was on board). She woke up in the middle of the night and cried for an hour and ten minutes. Just when I was starting to waffle and considering going in to get her, she fell back asleep. (Still doing her sad little gasping breathing).
But it was all worth it, because Saturday night, Layla slept from 8ish p.m. till 7 a.m. And she has slept through the night every night since then.
I can't even begin to describe how different I already feel after just a few nights of full, uninterrupted sleep. Layla woke up to eat at 6:15 this morning to eat (she went to bed early at 7:30 last night) and since I had my alarm set for 6:30 anyway, I just stayed up. I got to have an hour long quiet time, ate breakfast, unloaded the dishwasher, put away clean dishes on the counter, and restarted the dishwasher with Kyle's hat inside to try to wash (our first attempt at this, we'll see if it actually worked well and didn't shrink it). All of that before Landon woke up (and Layla woke back up). I'm a new woman!
And I seriously am so, so thankful to God for flipping the switch in Layla's body to get her to sleep all night. We're going to KC this weekend overnight for one night to see Kyle's family, so I am *praying* that a night of sleeping in her pack n play in the room with us won't ruin the sleeping progress she's made. I'd prefer not to have to do another cry it out night.
And have I ever mentioned she's really cute when she sleeps? Especially when she sleeps 10-11 hours at a time. Definitely noticeably cuter :)
**And yes, I realize she's wearing a boy sleep sack. But I resisted the urge to buy a cute new girly one because Landon's are still perfectly usable, and aside from my multitude of pictures of her sleeping, no one sees her in it. It is still a *little* hard to resist every time I walk past them at WalMart though...

Praise God!!! I'm SO happy she is sleeping through the night and that your sanity is returning =)
I can't imagine how nice it must be to have that time to yourself again.
That's awesome girl! I remember that Giada didn't want to sleep through the night until she was 7months, and I finally had to let her cry it out as well. I was losing my mind at that point. But totally worth it!
And your little sleeper is adorable! She is just too cute!
