My beautiful little one year old girl! I'm still in denial that this was a whole year ago:
And now here she is, my big princess!
We had Layla's one year check up at the doctor today. Our tall skinny supermodel has evened out a little. She was 29.3 inches long, which was the 54th percentile, and she weighed 20 lbs. 12 oz which was the 43rd percentile. And she's also very smart, apparently, because her head circumference was in the 88th percentile =)
It was fun getting Layla's measurements, but she was not a big fan of her doctor appt today: four shots and getting her blood drawn made for a very unhappy girl.
Isn't that just the saddest face ever? =(
Here are some facts about one year old Layla!
* Sleep - She goes to bed around 8 p.m. and then usually sleeps till about 6:30ish. She drinks a bottle and then usually goes back to sleep till around 8, although sometimes she won't fall back asleep. However, the past two days she has gone back to sleep and slept until 9:15! I would be ok if she makes that a normal thing. She's also getting better at napping, and usually at least one of her two naps each day is about 2 hours long.
* Eating - Layla has switched over to drinking whole milk now in the past week. She's not as good of an eater as I remember Landon being; she's much more picky about what she'll eat. Her favorite foods right now are strawberry banana yogurt, toast, bananas, pieces of sweet potato or squash, and chicken fried rice.
* Layla has started taking several steps in a row, but she hasn't taken off walking across the room yet. I'm sure that will happen soon! Sorry I need to get a video of her walking sometime.
* She jabbers all the time, but has yet to say an official words (other than Mama & DAda)
* She loves to play with Landon (still). He actually plays back with her a little more now. Their favorite activity is to chase each other back and forth crawling back behind our couch. She's also starting to like playing with her baby dolls, but she also follows Landon around pushing cars on the floor =)
* Layla is such a smiley, sweet girl. She brings us so much joy!

I meant to tell you earlier but I LOVED the little outfit and tutu you put Layla in for her birthday. She looked like such a princess. I can't believe it's already been a year since she joined your family, Happy 1st birthday to her!!
