It's crazy, but true! Landon turned 3 years old this past Thursday!
Ahhhh I can't believe it. Wasn't this just yesterday?
We had a great time celebrating our sweet 3 year old boy! We were "out of station" (the phrase Indians use to say they were out of town) for a week leading up to Landon's birthday at staff training in another city, and arrived back home at 7:30 p.m. the night before Landon's birthday, so unfortunately we were a little unprepared to celebrate at first! I really wanted to make a special breakfast for him the morning of his birthday, but with no milk and no eggs in the fridge (and grocery shopping not being quick or convenient) I had to settle for reheating a chocolate chip banana muffin I had frozen. He didn't know the difference though - he still loved it!
Kyle and I went into his room when he woke up and sang to him, and then had breakfast. We Skyped with Grandpa & Grandma, and Papa & Nana, so he got lots of singing in that morning!
One of the guys on our team stayed with the kids while they napped that afternoon so Kyle and I could go to the mall and buy birthday presents for Landon (and groceries). I told you, we were unprepared! We had planned to celebrate with our team Friday night so we saved our presents for then, and thankfully the packages of birthday gifts that Kyle's mom and sister had sent arrived while we were gone, so we had them for his birthday! So the night of his birthday he got a little piece of chocolate cake from the grocery store with a 3 candle on it, then he got to open all of his "America" birthday presents!!

We had specifically told Kyle's mom to send in his birthday package a "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" DVD. He used to like watching it back in the US on the Disney Junior app on our iPad, but that doesn't work here, and he missed it. Here's a video of him opening the DVD:
Let's just say, we've been watching a lot of Jake the past few days.
So the celebration continued the next day with our team! Laura's birthday happened to fall on the day that we left town, so the girls had taken her out for dinner the night before:

to a creperie....oh yum.
But since we hadn't been able to celebrate as a whole team yet, we had a joint birthday dinner out for Laura & Landon! Laura picked our favorite Italian place for dinner.

After dinner we came home and let Landon open the gifts that Kyle & I got for him.
I picked out some educational cards, and a new playdough accessory kit, which Landon loved, but the gift that Kyle picked out was what really won his heart:
A Hot Wheels track set. When Landon opened this up, Chase's exact quote was: "I can't wait to babysit."
Landon immediately wanted to open it, so Kyle set it up while I got the candles ready on their chocolate birthday cake. (No pic, oops). Landon was having so much fun with the car track that he wouldn't even eat his cake. Repeat: Landon would not even stop to eat his chocolate cake. What?!
Dad wins the prize for coolest present choice. In my defense, he has also really enjoyed squeezing his playdough through his new shape maker deal.
The crowd for the birthday bash:
It was a great time with our India Family celebrating Landon's big day. I'll do a separate post about three year old Landon because this post just got way too long.
Happy Birthday to our sweet, happy boy!
