I'm not gonna lie.
I'm missing good ol' Kansas' October right now (even though they had snow this week...what?!)
Round these parts, the temperatures are still in the 80's, the leaves are still green, and monsoon season has kept hanging around with a little bit more rain (no arguments here, I'll miss the rain when it leaves for months!)
But if you know how much I love fall, then you can understand why I have a small case of the "fall blues."
So I decided we'd just bring autumn to India and pretend it was a Kansas October day! We had a fun "Fall Festival" team night and it was so fun.
Our house smelled like fall all day as I baked up some treats for the occasion.

Hot chocolate we brought with us from home! And we broke into the Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee
that Kyle's mom sent over in Landon's birthday package. Mmmmm.
Everyone came over at 7 and we started off the night with the food (of course) and then we painted pumpkins!!
They're not "pumpkins" per se, but they're some sort of gourd-like vegetable, so they filled the need.
Landon and Layla had a great time painting their pumpkin.
Layla mostly just decided to paint her legs.
Landon did a good job though! He had a little help from Dad painting the stem.
Here are the finished products!
Now mine and Landon's have been added to our fall decoration display :)
After we got the kids down to bed, we played a round of my all time favorite group game, Whoonu.
It's the greatest non-cheesy, fun get to know you-ish type game I've ever played. We had a great time and learned a lot about each other! (i.e. Christina has never climbed a tree but thinks the idea sounds fun, Meghan assumes that all KSU Farmhouse guys walk around wearing fuzzy slippers, and Rick does NOT actually like chess very much, even though he encouraged Drew to buy a chess board earlier that day).
All in all, it was a fun, fun night, and made it feel a little more like fall! Love our team!

I love your new layout (or is it not new and I just haven't noticed it yet?)
I'm so glad you were able to get a little taste of fall while you're out there. I think the little celebrations like that I would miss the most.
