Layla - 20 Months

Look at that little cutie pie! If that is not the definition of sweetness, I sure don't know what is.

Layla is 20 months! Sometimes she seems actually a lot older than that, but I can hardly believe my little baby is growing up so much. Here's what this girl is up to lately:

*Boycotting pictures

I was just trying to get a shot of them together in their new jammies that Grandma sent over with Nana, but of course that's too much to ask. Landon is actually on a good picture taking kick, but Layla is just too good for it. Unless she has control of the camera and is taking selfies.

* Being a goofball. Layla is unbelievably ornery and just does the silliest things. She gets these ornery faces that I'm convinced came straight from her Daddy.

Her pretty little eyes crinkle up and you just know that she's thinking about doing something to get in trouble.

* Talking like crazy. I realized that I should probably try to actually document the words that Layla is saying after I looked back at Landon's 20 Month post and saw how few words he was saying in comparison. It's kind of ridiculous how much more Layla is talking than he was, although not surprising (second child and a girl!) It's hard to create a list though because she just says so much, and will repeat just about anything you tell her to say. So here are the clear words that she says voluntarily without prompting: "Hi, Bye bye, Nite nite, Love you, Dog, Kitty, Car, Ball, Flower, Apple, Banana, Chair, Cracker, Cookie, Cereal, Milk, Juice, Up, All Done, Here Go, Pasta, Pizza, Blocks, Bear, Baby, Lion," ok she actually says a lot more than that but I got tired of trying to think of them all. We'll just say, she says a lot. She'll also say "Amen" at the end of prayer, and her most common word is "No" :)  For awhile she actually said no meaning either no or yes, which was confusing, but now, no means no and ok means yes. 

* Eating like a machine. She's by far a better eater than Landon right now. She loves pasta, fried rice, cucumbers, apples, pears, crackers, cookies, pizza (she'll eat 3-4 medium slices at a time, not even kidding) pancakes, and she would eat 6 bananas a day if I would let her. She unfortunately also loves pineapple and red peppers, but they give her horrible diaper rash so she doesn't get to eat them. Poor little deprived foodie.

She's actually getting really good at feeding herself with spoon or fork as well. 

If Layla is crying, when in doubt, feed her.

* Favorite toys/activities: Looking at books, dumping things out everywhere, playing with blocks, playing cars with Landon, playing chase/being tickled, going for walks (when she actually gets to walk), dancing, singing Itsy Bitsy Spider, and getting in the way of whatever Landon is doing. Oh, and eating. Did I mention that favorite activity already?

We're hoping to find a pediatrician here soon to take them in for wellness check ups, so I can find out her height/weight. She still seems to be a very tall girl! She's already in all 24/2T clothes and even some of those size dresses are too short for her! Yes, she's still in dresses, even though it's November, because it's still hot hot hot out (today the high was 90). Welcome to India! I think some colder days are on the horizon though and you better bet I'll do my best to recreate some fall-ish outfits on this cute little girl.
