Has anyone else noticed that babies are constantly changing?
(duh)
Even though I know this is a fact, it still amazes me how quickly Landon changes! Just when I think we've settled into a routine, he decides we need some variety in our lives.
For example, my late night boy who used to eat for the last time around 10 p.m. and then go to sleep (which was the perfect schedule for a college ministry baby!) has gradually but steadily changed his bedtime to 8:00. (I think he would actually go to bed earlier if I let him, but I try to force him to stay awake till then, ha!).
This is probably just a "normal" bedtime for "normal" babies of "normal" couples, and I don't mind it 5 or 6 nights out of the week as it allows me to be more productive after he goes to bed, but on the 1-2 nights a week that we have 8 or 8:30 college ministry meetings, it's a little inconvenient! This past week I didn't even go to our large group meeting at 8:30 because my little punkin' was in bed sound asleep at 7:50. My large group meeting days might be over for the temporary future. So, I'm realizing that this is really the first time where my life schedule is really significantly changing since he's been born. But he's so worth it that I don't even care!
My almost 7 month old is also sitting up by himself now!

Only problem is, he thinks it's funny when he tips over (must not have actually hurt at all yet). So every now & then he just stops trying to hold himself up and falls over. I think this is because he is a boy. I'm just certain a girl wouldn't do something like that.

We've also discovered the FIRST food that Landon is not a fan of:
That's right...avocado was NOT a hit. After being told by multiple friends how great of a first baby food it is (all you do is mash it, it's full of good fats for their brains, etc.) I was excited to feed it to him. His thoughts? "Get that health food away from me!" is the rough translation of all his gagging.
(this video is actually pretty tame. This was the 2nd try of feeding it to him so he didn't gag quite as drastically. The first time he repeatedly spit it out after gagging profusely)
He was finally willing to eat it only after I mixed in some of his pears to change the flavor/texture a little bit. Although, I can't really blame him. My preferred method of eating avocado is when it's been turned into this:
Chipotle's guacamole is my particular favorite. However, I don't think Landon is quite ready for that yet.

You're right - babies are constantly changing!!! And Kaylee is 7 and she's still changing all the time too, so don't expect that change to end anytime soon! And yes, with those changes come changes to our life and our routine and our schedule. All part of parenting!
Love the new pics of Landon :)
health food and sharing are overrated! he is a cutie pie!
That is so true. My little girl is 4months old, and it seems like every time I get a hang of things, she changes her schedule on me.
My husband and his side of the family are such picky eater that it drives me insane. This is why I'm so determined to make my kids like everything. I did a bit of research on feeding babies and I've learned that sometimes it can take about 15 tries before they start liking a new food.
Landon is such a little ham! He's adorable!
