We made it. Home.SWEET.Home.
If you ever want to renew your gratefulness to arrive home, take a 2 day, 18+ hour road trip with a 21 month old and a 4 month old. Wow I've never been so happy to pull into Manhattan.
We got home about 7 p.m. Monday night. Landon actually did better this time than on our 3 day trip down to Gulf Shores. He mostly watched a lot of movies, but that was fine with us if it kept him happy (and it did, for he most part). That DVD player set from my parents wins the MVP award (Most Valuable Present). Very happy early birthday Landon!
Layla, on the other hand, did much worse this time than on the trip down. She's just not the type of baby who will sleep the whole day, even in the car, so 2 full days of driving was basically miserable after about the first 4 hours for her. She just likes to be awake during the day, and was not happy to be restricted in her car seat staring at the back of the van. We finally rigged up the second DVD screen so that she could have something to look at.
I think Layla was just protesting the fact that she had to spend her 4 month birthday riding in the car all day long. We have her doctor appt tomorrow morning so check back tomorrow for her 4 month post!

Bless your heart! I'm glad you guys are home safely and your traveling is done. I can't imagine how stressful that car ride would have been~
