Landon - 22 Months

Obviously this post is over a week late. Sorry, Landon.
I took his pictures on his 22 month birthday last week, but then we left out of town (again) and I forgot to bring my camera cord with me, oops! We were in Wichita with my parents all week because Kyle is back down in Gulf Shores for the final week of Kaleo, and I didn't so much want to spend over a week alone at home with two kids.
So here we are, a week later, celebrating this 22 month old!

He was NOT very happy about me trying to take his pictures that day. Here's how most of them turned out:

Landon is tons of fun at this stage, and also TONS of orneriness. He seems to get more and more mischievous by the day. That's a nice way of saying he tests limits and gets in trouble a lot.

He continues to become more and more verbal. I love that he'll at least attempt to say any word you ask him to. It's especially fun getting him to say people's names. He still mostly speaks his own language though throughout the day, and rather loudly. Still trying to catch that on camera though. His favorite word lately seems to be "No, No!" He walks around touching all the things he knows he's not supposed to do and says "No, no, no". Needless to say, we're starting to ramp up the discipline lately.
The biggest change in Landon recently is that he's actually starting to eat less. I know, this is a huge shock. He still eats well (usually), but he is just starting to decide he's done much sooner rather than us just cutting him off. He's also becoming a very independent eater. He doesn't like to be fed but always wants to feed himself with a fork or spoon, which gets messy when he's having things like peas or spaghetti. And he's not afraid to help himself to whatever he wants.
Stealing bites of my salad out to lunch with Kyle's family.
He's also recently discovered corn on the cob.

"This stuff is good."
Landon has decided that our shoe organizer by the front door is his own personal snack stand.
Despite his slow down in eating, I weighed him on my parents' scale and it came out at 28.9 lbs. so he's still a very hefty boy to lift! Some of his 24 month sized shirts are fitting a little snug.

Landon's sleeping and playing habits haven't changed much. He's been very bummed at all this hot weather because he still constantly wants to go outside and never gets to. But he's adorable to watch play by himself with his toys. With all the jabbering he does I wish so much I could understand what he's saying, because it sure seems like he has a healthy imagination!
He is ALWAYS on the go and gets into everything. He's also a little daredevil and constantly climbing all over things, which has resulted in more than one fat lip and bruised forehead. But of course he doesn't learn from those experiences.
Although he definitely keeps us on our toes, we have so much fun with our big boy and just love him to pieces.

Love you Punkin'!!
