As I mentioned in my last post (also new today!) this past weekend we got to go to a wedding in KC. You might remember me posting about the engagement of my friend Rachel to Josh back in October, and they got married last Saturday! Kyle was a groomsman and I was a bridesmaid, so it was really fun to get to be in the wedding together and to be a part of their big day. Rachel was in my bible study all through college and Josh was in Kyle's, so they're definitely some special friends to us.
The whole experience was made even BETTER by the fact that Kyle's parents watched Landon & Layla during the rehearsal and the wedding so we got to totally enjoy the experience!!
Friday night's rehearsal was so fun to get together and catch up with friends (and rehearse, of course)

For the rehearsal dinner they catered in Oklahoma Joe's barbecue (yes, located in Kansas City, KS), which was soooooo delicious.

Then the big day arrived! All the bridesmaids met Saturday morning at a hair salon to get all beautified. On the way there I picked up some Starbucks for Rachel, because she just had to start off her wedding day on the right foot.
I also got some for myself. Bonus.
Rachel's hair was a mastepiece.
We took turns getting hair done and sitting, chatting, and watching other people's hairdos.
Then I headed back to Kyle's parents' house briefly to pick up Layla and Kyle and we met the rest of the bridal party over at the church to finish getting ready before pictures.

| Seriously, she was just stunning |
While we were getting ready Layla was with us for a couple of hours so I could feed her one final time before the wedding started, then Kyle's mom came to pick her up and take her home. Luckily, the bridesmaids' getting ready room also happened to be the nursery, so she had some toys to play with.
Our friend Emma also came early to help keep her entertained. Unfortunately this was when Layla was starting to come down with her cold so she wasn't the happiest camper.
The ceremony was so beautiful, and the pastor did an incredible job on the message, reminding everyone of how the Gospel has to be central for a marriage to work. They wrote their own vows, which were also beautiful. And then, the moment we had all been waiting for, Josh & Rachel became man and wife!
We took pictures afterwards at the photographers' photo studio that Josh had designed (he's an architect).

The reception was in a beautiful new location in downtown KC on the 8th floor of a building, really industrial looking. The view was spectacular.

First dance:
It was amazing being child-less for the evening getting to catch up with friends and actually have a blast dancing!
And of course, our favorite people that night, the happy couple!
We are so happy for you Josh & Rachel! Love you two!!!

It looks like you guys had so much fun both getting to be a part of the big day. Aren't weddings the best?! I love how romantic they are and the chance to have a date night with our husbands. You were a beautiful bride by the way!
