5 Is Almost 6

Landon is 5 months old! And 5 is almost 6, and 6 months is half a year! AHHHH!! I can't believe how big my little babe is! I think I'm in denial. Yet it's so hard to remember life without our little man.

We had to take his 5 months pictures today instead of Saturday because we were at the  Wives' Retreat (so fun!) Here's a picture of Landon & Alexa sleeping on the car ride:

Notice that Landon is as big if not bigger even though Alexa is 4 months older than he is
So we took his 5 month pictures this morning instead, and thankfully he was in a good mood!

And what a talented 5 month old he is!!
* He's getting really good at sitting up & playing as long as his boppy is behind him - not quite ready to fly solo yet!
* He's started "talking" a lot more - of course he still does his pterodactyl screeches, but recently he's been making much quieter talking sounds. And boy does he have a lot to say! (no idea where he got that from). It's sooooooooooo cute
* He has rolled over from tummy to back a total of 3 times. Still not breaking any world records in this department, but that's ok
* He loooooves him some cereal! I think he gets legitimately EXCITED to eat his cereal every night. I make it much thicker now & he swallows almost every spoonful...well, plenty still makes it on his face, but mostly because he feels the need to stick his fingers in his mouth right after I put a spoonful of cereal in there. Who knows.
* He's constantly figuring out how to play with new toys! One of my favorite things about being a parent is that you actually get to watch your child LEARN. Just the other day Landon "discovered" a new toy on his jumper that he hadn't really played with before. It was fun to watch his mind work as he figured out how to spin it.
* Speaking of playing, he's much better at grasping onto objects now; no more of this batting and swinging at stuff. He's also figuring out how to actually put his pacifier back IN his mouth after he pulls it out. Still not batting 100% on this one either, but he's much improved. (But yes, he still gets mad if he can't get it back in after awhile and is upset that it is gone from his mouth, even though he is the one who pulled it out. Such a goof).

He's such a good boy! Our trip to the Wive's Retreat was 7 hours both ways on Friday and Sunday, but he didn't cry once for the whole trip! Just either slept or played with the toys hanging from his car seat. It was fun to actually get to sit next to him in the car & not be up front!

I love my little babe! (and my amazing husband!)

I enjoy reading your posts about Landon and thinking that we're going through the exact same phases and stages with Isabelle. It's so fun to watch them grow and learn and like you, I cannot believe 6 months is so close. For Isabelle, it'll be this Saturday!! Yikes!

Your wife's retreat sounds fun...maybe if you feel a bit wild, you could take a brief turn from the Landon posts and post about the retreat?!
