Well, as you can guess by a long blog absence, a lot has happened over the last few weeks, Christmas being one of the most exciting. We went to Kyle's sister's house in Des Moines for Christmas this year, but we stayed in KC for a night with his parents on the way so we could go out to dinner for my birthday! We went to a fancy Italian restaurant on the Plaza. I discovered I only kind of like Chicken Marsala, and then we had the most delicious tiramisu ever. Oh yum.

Then it was off to Des Moines for a very white (and cold) Christmas.

Landon watching a movie on their massive TV. I don't think he'll ever be happy with our 32" again.

Have I mentioned how much I love having a girl?

Opening presents Christmas morning. For the first time Landon actually understood the concept of opening gifts!
|
Layla of course did not. She liked finding little pieces of wrapping paper to chew on though.

Then I tried to get a picture of the two of them together in their Christmas jammies.
Fail.
Layla is much more cooperative for solo photos. And for the record, I think her eyes keep getting more and more blue.

Cute Christmas day outfit :)
The day after Christmas we all went out to breakfast together at IHOP. Layla tried little bites of pancake for the first time and thoroughly approved. Landon plowed through about 2 whole eggs and almost a whole pancake.

More pancakes please!
Then it was back to the house for a few hours before we had to hit the road. Papa got buried in a pile of grandkids. I don't think he minded though.
We had a great time celebrating Layla's first Christmas! And this Sunday we get to head down to Wichita for Christmas #2 before we leave Landon with my parents while we go to our winter conference in Oklahoma City. Fun times ahead!
Merry (late) Christmas and hope you have a blessed start to 2013!
